Words that resonate (about When We Wrote Letters)
As a “Gen Z” person, it was so great to see all these vignettes of life before. Could be tricky to read if you’re unfamiliar with cursive, but totally worth the deciphering. The book is full of love, warmth, family and friends. Quick read and it hooks you in with captivating imagery!
Consisting only of letters and newspaper clips, the book reveals a lot about the author’s life, her friends, and her family members. There are heartfelt love letters with raw emotions pouring out of them, and the friendly and artistic letters from friends. The various letters present a personalized touch with different handwritings and writing styles, which would be hard to present in word format. I very much enjoyed this novel piece of literature.
Real life as it was in the 60’s. Many memories came out, remembering stuff, reading familiar names. How young we were and so innocent of the world. The author captures it exactly!
